#EpilepsyWeek 2025 – EI launch new “degree” within EpiLearn app!

To mark National Epilepsy Week 2025, we are delighted to have launched a new learning module within our e-learning app, EpiLearn.

The new module is focused on our epilepsy “degree”. The “degree” is a resource that was first launched during COVID on our website and proved to be an extremely popular resource for people to gain invaluable knowledge about epilepsy in a few minutes.

With the use of materials developed for previous International Epilepsy Day campaigns, gifs, memes and the (subjective!) wit of the team here at Epilepsy Ireland, this new module is tongue-in-cheek in places to create an engaging and fun learning experience. Implementing the "degree" on the e-learning platform has also allowed us to examine what our students have learned!

Of course, this approach is in no way meant to understate the very real impact epilepsy can have for those living with it, but we hope by providing this resource in a light-hearted way, it will encourage the public to learn more about epilepsy, which will ultimately help improve the lives of those living with the condition.

We hope that our “degree” will be a great addition to our existing information resources, and it will help the wider public learn more about the condition and ultimately help us progress further on our journey towards a society where no person’s life is limited by epilepsy.

To begin your studies at the self-proclaimed “University of Epilepsy Ireland” and to begin your “degree”, you can download our Epilearn app directly on your chosen device via the buttons below.

We look forward to seeing our future graduates sharing their “degrees” on social media and encouraging their friends and family to get theirs!

If you need any information or support about epilepsy, please do not hesitate to contact your local Community Resource Officer. You can find their details by visiting the ‘Our Local Services’ section of our website. If you'd like to read some of the stories we've shared during #EpilepsyWeek, visit the 'National Epilepsy Week' page on our website.

While the new module on the app has now been launched, we are still in the infancy of its existence. Therefore, we would welcome any feedback or suggestions you may have. Please email our Training & Quality Manager, Edel Curran, on training@epilepsy.ie with any feedback you may have. We look forward to developing further learning resources within EpiLearn in the future.
