National Epilepsy Week 2025 took place from May 19th – 25th and there were several highlights across the week which helped raise awareness of epilepsy and ultimately bring us closer toward a society where no person’s life is limited by epilepsy. We have linked to each of these below:
- Grace shared her story of living with epilepsy and her journey to becoming one-year seizure free. You can read her story in full by visiting the ‘Life with Epilepsy’ page on our website
- Gilliane outlined her approach on how she navigates the challenges that epilepsy can bring. You can read her story in full by visiting the ‘Life with Epilepsy’ page on our website.
- For #EpilepsyWeek 2025, Elaine shared her family’s experience of epilepsy with her son Cole’s diagnosis with the rare epilepsy PCDH19. You can read their story in full by visiting the ‘Life with Epilepsy’ page on our website.
Alongside the above fantastic awareness-raising developments, we also had the launch of two new resources by Epilepsy Ireland.
- Written by our media volunteer Nicole and inspired by her real-life experiences of explaining epilepsy to her daughter Amelia, we published “Amelia’s Guide to Brain Hiccups”. You can read more about this and download the new resource by visiting the ‘News’ section of our website.
- We launched the “degree” learning resource on our e-learning platform, EpiLearn. You can learn more about this resource and EpiLearn by visiting the ‘News’ section of our website.
