Epilepsy Ireland were delighted to recently launch our 9th Research Funding Call, which is run in conjunction with the Health Research Board/Health Research Charities Ireland Joint Funding Scheme (HRB/HRCI HFS).
As Expressions of Interest are due to Epilepsy Ireland by the 26th of September 2025, we are hosting a special online information session about our call for researchers, clinicians and research institutions who may be interested in making an application for funding.
The aim of the event is to provide researchers with the information required for submission of expressions of interest to Epilepsy Ireland, and to provide a space for researchers to ask any questions regarding the funding scheme and Epilepsy Ireland’s research priorities. The event will be hosted by our Research Officer, Dr. Grace Hallinan, who will discuss a range of topics including:
- Epilepsy Ireland’s role in research
- Our previous and currently funded research projects
- Our research priorities for this funding call
- Guidance on our pre-application phase
- Live Q&A
We will also be joined by Dr. Sarah Delaney, Research Support Manager from Health Research Charities Ireland, who will provide an overview of the JFS and answer additional questions about the overall scheme.
Since 2009, we have invested over €1.5 million in a range of epilepsy research projects - we hope when this rigorous and competitive process ends in the Autumn of 2026, we will be adding to this amount via a range of new investments.
If you are considering applying for this funding, we would encourage you to come and join us for this online event so you can learn more about the application process and ask any questions you may have.
