Employment Rights & Job Search Tips – with Lorraine Lally & Gerard Kennedy

two people shaking hands at job interview.
18 May 2022

Misconceptions can still exist when it comes to epilepsy in the workplace and people with epilepsy have faced discrimination in employment due to their condition. It is therefore important that people are fully aware of their employment rights.

This session will see practising barrister Lorraine Lally provide an overview of employment rights and a review of relevant cases related to employment.

In addition to Lorraine’s expertise, we will also have input from Gerard Kennedy on CV tips & interview techniques – with a particular focus on disclosure of epilepsy. Due to the issues mentioned above, people with epilepsy can often be hesitant in disclosing their condition. As a person with epilepsy, Gerard will provide both personal and professional experience on disclosure as his career is in HR.

We look forward to welcoming attendees on the night for what promises to be an informative session – featuring two fantastic young professionals who are also living with epilepsy.
