Living on Alert: Support Strategies for Parents/Guardians of Children with Epilepsy 3.2.26

03 Feb 2026

From our years of supporting parents and guardians of children with epilepsy, we know first-hand the anxiety and worry which can come with supporting a child on their journey with the condition.

Due to the nature of seizures – as well as other unseen aspects of the condition such as side-effects from medication and ensuring their child is supported and included – parents can often feel on constant alert – which in turn can have an impact on the parent themselves.

While epilepsy and parenthood come with natural worries, knowing how to manage these is very important in order to best support a child on their journey with the condition, and to avoid parents becoming burnt out.

This is why we have arranged this special event for parents/guardians of children with epilepsy. This event will aim to provide practical techniques to calm the body and mind and tools to manage worry more effectively. At this event, we will be joined by Principal Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Brian McClean who will share his expertise by providing information on specific techniques that help to organise worry, support the need for balanced decision making and reduce the need for constant monitoring.

If you are a parent/guardian of a child with epilepsy and would like to join us for this virtual event – where you will also meet other parents/guardians – you can see further details below.

We look forward to welcoming you to this event.
