Well, thanks to Elaine Brosnan, you can!! Elaine has set up an incredible fundraiser in support of Epilepsy Ireland to mark Purple Day®.
Elaine, her husband Anil, and son Ben live in Cork. Their connection to epilepsy comes via their warrior Ben, who was diagnosed with Infantile Spasms in 2019. Infantile Spasms are a very serious type of seizure which can start during a child’s first two years of life. The seizures can be extremely subtle and are often misdiagnosed. If they go unnoticed or untreated, they have the potential to cause permanent damage to a child’s developing brain. Not content with all the awareness they have raised (and continue to raise) around Infantile Spasms, Elaine has now launched a wonderful fundraiser in support of Epilepsy Ireland.
To raise funds for Purple Day ®, Elaine is giving away a Marc Jacobs Handbag on Instagram. While we’re not experts on handbags here at Epilepsy Ireland, we’re reliably informed that this is an incredible giveaway – and the response to date shows that!
Elaine is passionate about home interiors – and her Instagram page ‘homenotbeforetime’ – charts her journey of designing the home she shares with Anil & Ben. Her page has amassed a large following and because of this, the fundraiser she has established has gotten attention from across Ireland with huge engagement.
Already, over €3.5k has been raised in support of Epilepsy Ireland via Elaine’s giveaway; while the further awareness it has created around Infantile Spasms is priceless.
In addition, ‘The Thoughtful Shopper’ – an Irish Gift Concierge company has gotten behind Elaine’s giveaway – by adding an amazing care package for another lucky winner!
