Sadly, some months after her wonderful contribution in order to raise awareness of epilepsy during Rose Week, we were informed of the untimely passing of Louise Young on Friday 8th January 2021.
Louise was an avid supporter of our work – completing the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon shortly before Rose Week 2020. She was also an active media volunteer for Epilepsy Ireland and contributed to the week with the video below in which she talks about her own epilepsy and the support she received from our service.
The video received a hugely positive response across all our social media channels with many commending Louise for sharing her story and others noting how they would speak more openly about their epilepsy having watched her video.
She was truly an extraordinary young woman who will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
Thank you for you for everything you did to support others with epilepsy Louise.
