From the North Pole to the South Pole for Epilepsy Ireland!

This August, 69-year-old cyclist Iain Mentiply, is embarking on an extraordinary journey across Ireland to raise funds for Epilepsy Ireland in memory of his late brother-in-law Joe Griffin.

Joe was from Killorglin in Co. Kerry and lived with epilepsy throughout his life and availed of Epilepsy Ireland’s services on his journey with epilepsy, regularly linking in with his local Community Resource Officer and joining our support groups.

Ian saw first-hand the important impact that Joe’s local CRO made in his life commenting:

I saw how much Joe valued the support he got from his Community Resource Officer and how much he looked forward to meeting her. This has inspired me to help Epilepsy Ireland carry on this fantastic work in his memory.

Ian has devised an incredible challenge to raise funds for Epilepsy Ireland. Beginning on the 20th August, Ian will pedal through the heart of Ireland across 8 days – beginning in the North Pole Bar in Drumfries in Co. Donegal, and finishing in the South Pole Inn in Annascaul, Co. Kerry.

The route will span 375 miles – a massive challenge for Ian in Joe’s memory:

I've never taken on something like this before, but every hill and turn will be worth it if I can help others like Joe.

Thank you Ian for your incredible support for Epilepsy Ireland in Joe’s memory. Be sure to keep an eye out for Ian on his journey and share words of encouragement. You can also share your support for his fundraiser, by visiting Ian’s iDonate page via the button below:
