Managing Fatigue with Epilepsy - with Michelle Murray

17 May 2021

Fatigue is a symptom of a variety of conditions. It has been described as an overall feeling of tiredness or lack of energy, but it is more than sleepiness. Fatigue can have physical, cognitive and emotional triggers.

Fatigue is something that we are all familiar with since the onset of the pandemic and in general, with the pressures of day to day life.

Alongside the above, for people with epilepsy, fatigue can be prevalent due to varying doses of medication to help try and manage their condition. It is therefore important to know when you are fatigued and how to manage this.

This session will aim to to provide you with vital information on how best to manage fatigue by providing strageties and tips. At this session, we will be joined by Maria Murray. Maria has a background in social care and works with Quest Brain Injury Services and the National Learning Network. She has a particular interest in the management of fatigue and she delivers sessions on fatigue in both her roles. We are delighted to have her join us for this session to offer her expertise and insights to people with epilepsy.

Our Community Resource Officer Edel Killarney will also be in attendance to provide information and advice specific to epilepsy.

We look forward to welcoming you on the evening!
