In supporting a child with epilepsy, it is very important that you have as much information about the condition from the outset in order to better support your child on their journey with epilepsy.

Being fully informed and knowing what to look out for including potential triggers; challenges that can arise due to the side effects of anti-seizure medications – are important aspects to be aware of.

If you are a parent/guardian or family member of a child with epilepsy, we’d like to invite you to our Junior Joint Epilepsy Education Session – to provide you with key information to support you and your child on your collective journeys with epilepsy.

Our Joint Education Sessions involve an Epilepsy Ireland Community Resource Officer, teaming up with an epilepsy Healthcare Professional to provide further information on a range of topics, including:

  • Diagnosis
  • Treatment / Medications
  • Seizure types and response
  • Triggers and lifestyle
  • Supports in your community
  • Questions and Answers

This session will be led by Epilepsy Ireland Community Resource Officer, Joanne Lynch and we are delighted to be joined by Siobhan O’Malley, Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner from Paediatric Epilepsy Services at Children’s Health Ireland, Temple Street.

There will also be an opportunity as part of this event to put forward questions and answers. We look forward to welcoming you and should you have any questions on this event, please email Joanne on jlynch@epilepsy.ie.
