Epilepsy Ireland have published our Annual Report for 2024. The report provides a detailed overview of how we worked on each of our strategic aims across the year as we continued our journey towards a society where no person's life is limited by epilepsy.

2024 was a year which saw a number of significant developments for our organisation. The year witnessed the culmination of our Free Travel campaign, something that was fought for by Epilepsy Ireland over many years. We also appointed our first Youth Resource Officer to deliver specific services to young people with epilepsy - achieving a significant strategic aim within our current strategic plan. Epilepsy Ireland funded research also made national headlines, with an EI supported study providing data on the incidence of Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy for the first time ever. In addition, we were proud and privileged to be the beneficiaries of the 2024 Petermarkathon, an annual fundraising drive run by the renowned salon, Peter Mark.

Alongside all the above and much more, our services and training team continued to see strong demands for their vital supports - with 20,000 contacts with our service made across 2024, and over 3,000 professionals trained in Epilepsy Awareness and the Administration of Buccal Midazolam. As with years gone by, we also seen incredible individual, group and community-based fundraising efforts taking place in support of our work - efforts which have made the work you will read about in this report possible.

If you would like to read our Annual Report, you can download it on the publications page of our website.

With the report published, we would like to thank everyone who supported our work in any way across 2024. We hope you will continue to be with us as we continue our journey towards a society where no person's life is limited by epilepsy in the years ahead.
