During National Epilepsy Week, we highlighted an issue which we would we like to see addressed under the proposed Online Safety & Media Regulation Bill - namely that the bill would contain a reference to content maliciously shared to induce a seizure in a person with photosensitive epilepsy.
We were very pleased to received an invitation to address members of the Oireachtas Committee on Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport and Media to discuss this point and yesterday, we delivered our presentation on this issue. The Committee are currently undertaking pre-legislative scrutiny of this proposed legislation.
We are pleased to report that the point we put forward on this was well-received by members and we look forward to hearing more on this as the legislation progresses. We will provide further updates on our website and social media channels when further information becomes available.
