15 Nov 2023

It can be hard for young people/children with epilepsy to sometimes meet with others living with the condition which is why we are delighted to be offering this new programme.

Our Get Charty virtual event will allow 8-12 year old's living with epilepsy to meet with others to have a chat and do some art at the same time (do you see what we did with our event title?!) – all from the comfort of their home.

The event will be facilitated by Nichola Mooney – who is an executive council member of the Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapists. Throughout her career, Nichola has used embodiment, projection, role (EPR) and play within the therapeutic process to help support children living with long-term health conditions and in other difficult situations.

While those in attendance will be getting to know each other while getting creative, Nichola will be using these techniques to help them better understand themselves and hopefully, help them understand that their epilepsy is not a barrier to doing all the things they want to do in life.

Our Community Resource Officer Niamh Jones will also be in attendance to provide further insight on living with epilepsy.

If you have any questions about this event, please do not hesitate to contact Niamh on njones@epilepsy.ie  or by calling Niamh on 0858766628. We look forward to welcoming everyone on the night!
