Epilepsy Ireland are currently recruiting for the positions of "Fundraising & Communications Manager" and "Receptionist/Adminstration Assistant." Details of both these roles are outlined below:

Fundraising & Communications Manager

We are currently recruiting for the position of Fundraising & Communications Manager, based at our Head Office in Dublin.

The Role:

Reporting to the CEO, the Fundraising & Communications Manager will be part of the organisation’s senior management team. Responsibilities will include:

  • Working alongside the CEO and the Board’s Business Development & Sustainability sub-committee to develop and deliver a new multi-year income generation strategy enabling the organisation to achieve its strategic and operational goals.
  • Leading, managing and developing the fundraising team to achieve agreed annual fundraising plan and targets.
  • Managing and further developing the organisation’s existing fundraising channels including events, campaigns, community fundraising, relationships with supporters, corporate partnerships and third-party fundraising.
  • Expanding the organisation’s fundraising activities in new directions, ensuring a sustainable, successful and diverse fundraising portfolio.
  • Managing the organisation’s wider communications activities and campaigns.
  • Contributing as a member of the senior management team to the overall strategic direction, management and growth of the organisation.

The Successful candidate will have:

Experience & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a leadership role within a fundraising (or equivalent) team managing a diverse portfolio of activities.
  • A third level qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience of developing and implementing an income generation strategy, with a proven track record of growing income and achieving targets.
  • Experience in leading and inspiring a team, using innovative, creative thinking to achieve targets.
  • Evidence of building, managing and developing key external relationships or partnerships.
  • Experience of managing budgets and producing reports.
  • Preferably, experience of managing an organisation’s communications function.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of the fundraising and non-profit landscape in Ireland
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, with an ability to communicate with different target audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking and influencing abilities
  • Excellent project management, people management, organisational and planning skills. Experience in Digital Marketing an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical and commercial skills to identify and target new opportunities
  • Strong IT skills including MS Office; website & social media management; and CRM systems (experience of Salesforce an advantage)
  • Strategic thinker with ability to work as part of the senior management team
  • A results-focused self-starter with the ability to manage multiple demands, prioritise and work under pressure
  • Flexibility to travel and perform occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Full and clean driver’s license and use of own car.
  • Motivated to work within the non-profit health/ disability sector, with a passion for making a difference
  • Preferably, an understanding of and empathy for epilepsy-related issues

The Position:

This is a permanent post following the successful completion of a 6-month probationary period. Terms will be competitive and commensurate with experience & qualifications. The role will be subject to Garda vetting and reference checks.

Title: Receptionist / Administration Assistant

Location: Epilepsy Ireland Head Office, 249 Crumlin Road, Dublin 12
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 9.00am-5.00pm

Organisation Description:

Epilepsy Ireland was established in 1966 and is the national organisation working for people with epilepsy and their families. Our vision is to achieve a society where no person's life is limited by epilepsy. Our work encompasses:

  • Information, training and support services for people with epilepsy and their families delivered from head office in Dublin and 10 regional offices
  • Education and training for health professionals
  • Raising awareness and improving public understanding of epilepsy
  • Advocating on behalf of people with epilepsy
  • Funding and supporting epilepsy research

Duties:

  • Managing a busy reception and telephone lines
  • Answering general queries from members, service users and the public in a friendly, helpful and professional manner; directing queries to appropriate team members, taking and delivering messages
  • Meeting and greeting service users & visitors to head office; maintain visitor log book
  • Managing diary system/ arranging appointments
  • Administration support including but not limited to; typing, data input, filing, photocopying, assistance with compiling reports and statistical information
  • Assisting with processing membership payments, and input on our CRM system
  • Preparing and sending out Information packs/ literature as requested
  • Processing incoming mail
  • Preparing the post/ parcels for collection
  • Preparing meeting room including refreshments
  • Keeping the front office, meeting room & hall area neat and tidy at all times
  • Upkeep of franking machine, photocopier, bin collection etc.
  • Ensuring Kitchen supplies, stationery, general supplies etc. are stocked
  • Assist at Internal and external conferences/events with registrations, preparing conference packs etc.,
  • Work flexibly as a member of the team
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all aspects of the business of Epilepsy Ireland and all those involved with the organisation as staff or as members/service users
  • Any other duties that may be reasonably expected as part of the role

Requirements:

The successful applicant for this post will have:

  • A minimum education level of Leaving Certificate standard is expected. A relevant qualification e.g. Business/Office Administration will be a distinct advantage.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a reception/ administration setting preferably with some experience of the voluntary sector
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and ability to use general office equipment
  • Fluent English, both written and oral
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both face to face and on the telephone
  • Ability to listen and empathise with those experiencing personal difficulties
  • Flexible, enthusiastic attitude and ability to work on own initiative. Willingness to learn and undertake new tasks
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Strong organisational skills,
  • Ability to problem solve, and deliver work to a high standard and to work to tight deadlines
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, manage time and work in a busy environment
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the work of Epilepsy Ireland
  • To uphold the reputation of the organisation and represent Epilepsy in in a professional manner

This is a full-time role with occasional out of hours’ work required

The post will be permanent following the successful completion of a six –month probation period. 5% employer employer pension contribution following the completion of the probation period. There are 22 days Annual Leave.
