Health Research Charities Ireland - #GE2020

As a member of Health Research Charities Ireland (HRCI), Epilepsy Ireland are supporting the recommendations made by the HRCI to sitting and prospective TD's concering health research.

One of our key objectives is to support research into the condition epilepsy - its treatments, causes and pathways for potential cures. We would not be able to support this vital research without the support of the HRCI - HRB Joint funding scheme. The recommendations outlined by the HRCI outlines the importance of a focus on research in order to improve outcomes for people with epilepsy - and those living with other conditions across Ireland- and these recommendations are outlined below:

Recommendation 1 - Increase investment in clinical research in Ireland
Recommendation 2 - Undertake a national informatin campaign on the value of health research
Recommendation 3 - Establish a National Federation of Patinet Registries
Recommendation 4 - Develop a National Genomics Strategy
Recommendation 5 - Support a National Engaged Research Hub
