Giving Tuesday

Rather than donate your cash this Giving Tuesday, we’re asking our supporters to instead consider donating some of their time to us by registering as a volunteer for Epilepsy Ireland.

We depend on the support of our volunteers to help us fundraise, spread the word about our work and to assist with our awareness & advocacy campaigns.

This support is invaluable and this year for Giving Tuesday, why not consider joining our dedicated team of volunteers across the Country to help continue our work towards a society where no person’s life is limited by epilepsy?

At Epilepsy Ireland, we have two key groups of volunteers:

1) Fundraising Volunteers

Our fundraising volunteers are the backbone of our national fundraising campaigns. Volunteers with Epilepsy Ireland take a lead role in promoting our major campaigns such as Purple Day and Rose Week across the country in a variety of ways – be it through hosting their own local community events, carrying out virtual fundraising challenges or taking part in community collection drives with their friends, family, and other volunteers. We are always seeking new people of all ages to come join our community of enthusiastic volunteers and play their part in raising vital funds for the work of Epilepsy Ireland. If you would like to join the team and become part of our volunteering community, please contact our Fundraising & Development Manager, Stephen Lowry anytime at slowry@epilepsy.ie. We would be delighted to have you on board!

2) Media Volunteers

In raising awareness of epilepsy to increase the public understanding of the condition, the most powerful thing can often be a simple, personal story. That is why we require media volunteers - people who are willing and able to communicate their experience with epilepsy to others. This could be a lived experience through having epilepsy or through your relationship with a family member or loved one who has the condition. Epilepsy is an individual condition and it is only through individuals that we can showcase this fact. If you feel confident to tell your story with epilepsy, please do get in touch with our Advocacy & Communications Manager, Paddy McGeoghegan on pmcgeoghegan@epilepsy.ie.

If you’re feeling very generous this Giving Tuesday, there’s no reason why you can’t join both lists! As part of joining the lists, we will keep in touch with you on our upcoming fundraising & awareness campaigns and let you know how you can get involved.

We look forward to welcoming our new volunteers!
