Due to the COVID19 pandemic, many of our public fundraising events had to be cancelled due to the public health advice and in the interest of safety of our dedicated members, supporters & volunteers. Furthermore, we have also seen events cancelled where supporters would choose to organically fundraise for us - such as the many marathons that will now unfortunately not go ahead across the country.
We estimate that our fundraising income will be reduced by approxiamtely €400k in 2020 owing directly to the pandemic. This represents over half of projected fundraising income which is vital for our work for people with epilepsy and their families.
Because of the challenges that we and many other charities across Ireland are facing, the Charities Institute Ireland - in partnership with JustGiving - have launched #challenge32 to bring the whole Irish Charity sector together to encourage the public to support their charities through these unprecedented times.
Challenge 32 asks people to think up of a socially distanced fundraising activity around the number 32. Run 3.2 miles a day for 32 days - #challengethirtytwo! Juggle for 32 minutes - #challengethirtytwo! Go up and down the stairs at home 32 times - #challengethirtytwo! If you need inspiration for your #challengethirtytwo, you can click HERE.
We woud greatly appreciate any support you might be able to give up through the #challenge32 campaign.
You can set up your 32 based fundraising challenge or donate to our work by clicking HERE.
Thank you for your continued support during these unprecedented times - together we can achieve a society where no person's life is limited by epilepsy. If you have any questions regarding #challenge32, please do not hesitate to contact our fundraising team by emailing email@example.com.
