Article highlights the problems faced by students with epilepsy doing state examinations

Two of Epilepsy Ireland's young members are featured in today's Irish Times speaking about their experiences of schooling and state exams.

Both Sean and Katie are in their Leaving Certificate year but due to the frequency of their seizures both face the prospect of seizures disrupting their exams and of them not being able to sit exams in all their subjects. The nature of the exam system in Ireland means there is little flexibility for students who miss exams due to seizures and no guarantee that the same circumstances wouldn't arise if they repeat the year.
