1-6-2010 | Cisco Sports day supports Brainwave

A huge thank you to Anthony McLaughlin, Padraig Doheny, Kevin Gallagher and all the staff at Cisco in Galway who raised €1,860 for Brainwave through their annual sports day this year. The donation was made in memory of Kevin's brother Alan who passed away in 2009 and who was also remembered this year with the inaugural Tour De Gaggs cycle from Cork to Roscommon.

The staff at Cisco were also very generous in supporting Kevin's participation in the cycle.

Over 100 Cisco employees assigned to teams of four participated at the Sports day, in events such as the sack race, egg and spoon, and three legged race, as well as some lesser known events such as the slow bike race and the Chinese sweet race -which involved chop sticks, sweets and lots and lots of running. The highlight of the day was the Managers Vs Non-Managers soccer match.

"With everyone participating throughout the day, contributing to charity became a fun and memorable experience for all. The Sports day raised a total of €1860 for Brainwave, so thanks to everyone who participated." said Mike Conroy, head of Cisco Galway.

Pictured below at the presentation of the proceeds to Brainwave are Mike Conroy (head of Cisco Galway), Evelyn Monson Kirby (Brainwave), Kevin Gallagher, Anthony McLaughlin (organizer of Cisco Sports day) and Padraig Doheny (organizer of Cisco Sports day) along with the bike that took Kevin all the way from Cork to Roscommon in the Tour De Gaggs.

Thank you very much from everyone at Brainwave to all the staff at Cisco for their amazing support.
