Organised by the Neurological Alliance of Ireland (www.nai.ie), Brain Awareness Week 2010 runs from 8th - 13th March and the theme will be ""Services for People with Neurological Conditions in Ireland: Innovations and Solutions". This theme recognises the challenges facing the health service and aims to promote "thinking outside the box" in neurological conditions, by highlighting the importance of innovation and the role patient groups and healthcare providers can play in delivering innovative solutions.

To promote the theme of innovation, the NAI in association with Medtronic will present an Innovation award to recognise outstanding achievement in the development and/ or delivery of innovative solutions that have improved (or which have the potential to improve)the quality of life of people living with a neurological condition in Ireland.

Who can enter?

Entry is open to anyone working in the area of neurological conditions in Ireland (including but not exclusive to NAI member groups, health professionals, public or private organisations, academics and researchers). The award will be made to the project which in the opinion of the judges has made the most significant innovation in neurological service delivery.


One overall winner will receive the award and a prize of €2,000 for the non-profit organisation or institution of their choice. The winner as well as three runners-up will also have the opportunity to present details of their work at the NAI's Brain Awareness Conference on March 9th in the Science Gallery, Trinity College Dublin.

Closing date

The closing date for receipt of completed entries is 12 noon, Friday January 22nd.
