The first Brainwave film night took place on May 18th in Dublin's Mansion House to mark National Epilepsy Week 2010.

Almost 70 people attend to watch The Exploding Girl and three short films on the subject of epilepsy.

Consultant Neurologist Dr. Colin Doherty, Brainwave board member Audrey Murphy and CESN Denise Cunningham were joined on the discussion panel by Aled Smith, Cardiff-based filmmaker of "A Better Waiting Room", one of the short films shown on the night and an interesting discussion took place with the audience.

Feedback from the evening found that over 80% of people attending thought that films such as these could be very useful in helping to raise awareness of epilepsy and this is something we will be looking at developing in the future.
