Epilepsy Ireland is delighted to announce Mary Baker as the new Community Resource Officer for the North East area.

Mary is originally from Cork but has lived in Dublin and now Meath for many years. She is a graduate of Social Science from UCD and then went on to complete her Masters in Regional and Local Development at DIT. Mary has worked in the community sector for 16 years, firstly working in Dublin based partnership companies where she gained a broad range of experience.

Mary was responsible for working on a one to one basis with unemployed people as well as delivering community based training. The focus of her work was delivering projects to support disadvantaged individuals and groups in the community. Additionally, she was also involved in running women's groups, men's sheds, disability programmes, mental health projects and community health and advocacy programmes. She has a passion for health and particularly enjoys working with people on a one to one basis.

More recently she worked in Meath where she gained experience in a more rural setting again working on similar community based projects and training programmes.
