The Irish Independent today features coverage of the launch of the Neurological Alliance of Ireland (NAI) and its members campaign "We Need Our Heads Examined" in the Mansion House yesterday.

"We Need Our Heads Examined", a campaign led by the Neurological Alliance of Ireland (NAI) and supported by fifteen of its members, is calling on the Government to tackle the critical shortage of rehabilitation services for people with neurological conditions.

The article highlights the comments of Dr Mark Delargy, Clinical Director of the National Rehabilitation Hospital, at the launch who noted that "Not everyone who needs to can access vital specialist rehabilitation in a hospital setting, and when they are discharged, they often receive little or no additional supports in the community. For many, there is no other option than to be inappropriately placed in a nursing home with little chance of gaining any independence."

The article can be read in full on the Irish Independent's website.

Full details of the campaign, including how you can support it are available from the NAIs website.
