We can all play a part in Shattering Epilepsy Stigma. You can play your part by encouraging more people to find out just a little more about Ireland's most common neurological condition. Here are some things you can do:

  • Join us on Facebook and Twitter and encourage all your friends and followers to do the same
  • Download and distribute our Epilepsy Awareness Posters which can be displayed in workplaces, schools, community centres etc
  • Ask your friends and family to watch our Personal Story Videos and Epilepsy Information videos - each video is only a few minutes long.
  • Send us your own epilepsy awareness video. We'll upload and share the best ones. They don't have to be professionally edited but should be less than 4 minutes long. Files can be sent to info@epilepsy.ie if less than 5MB or uploaded to a file sharing server if larger thah that.
  • Distribute our fun epilepsy-quiz at school or at work. How many famous faces can you name?
  • Complete our Epilepsy & Stigma survey and let us know your thoughts and experiences of epilepsy (Open until February 6th)
  • Become a member of Brainwave. It costs just €12.70 a year and there are many benefits.
  • Get involved in our St Valentine's Roses Campaign fundraising activities- email fundraising@epilepsy.ie or call 01 4557500.
  • Become a Brainwave Media Volunteer and raise awareness by telling your story in national or local media - email us at info@epilepsy.ie or call 01 4557500
  • But the simplest way you can get involved in helping to Shatter Epilepsy Stigma is to simply TALK ABOUT IT. One of the biggest problems people with epilepsy face is other people's reaction to it. Being open about epilepsy helps to demystify it. So if you have epilepsy, talk about it. If you know someone with epilepsy, ask them about it.

Let's work together to end the stigma of epilepsy!

Our thanks to everyone who has become involved with the campaign in 2012. In particular, thanks to 2FM's Rick O'Shea; Tony, Judy & all the team at Young Euro RSCG; Cathy and all the staff at Red Diamond Media & The Law Society. Thanks also to all the volunteers who contributed to our radio ads and videos - Claire, Oliver, Eoin, Audrey, Fionnuala, Emma and Aaron. Your help is very much appreciated.
