Volunteers sought for survey on parents' coping mechanisms and epilepsy attitudes.

My name is Clare O'Dea and I am a mother of a 15 year old son who has epilepsy. I am currently studying Psychology at the School of Psychology in University College Dublin and my final year research project, under the supervision of Dr Christine Linehan, is "An investigation of the relationship between parents' coping mechanisms, their social comparison orientation and how these influence parents' attitudes towards their child's epilepsy". By learning more about these areas, we can add to the existing knowledge base and provide appropriate supports and interventions for parents and their children. If you are a parent of a child with epilepsy (aged between 5 and 18 years inclusive) who would like to contribute to research in this area, please click on the link below to complete the anonymous survey, which will take no longer than 15 minutes. Many thanks!

More information on the study is also available at the link above.
