Brainwave launched our Research Funding Scheme in October 2008.

Our first call for proposals in 2009 received a total of 14 applications for funding and three projects were funded (2 jointly with the HRB, and one thanks to the fundraising efforts of the friends and family of the late Barbara Doyle).

In 2011, 12 proposals were received, with one additional project funded.

All of the projects have the potential to add significantly to existing scientific knowledge of epilepsy and aid in the search for better outcomes for people living with the condition. We are delighted to support the work and will be bringing you regular progress updates here on epilepsy.ie as the projects continue.
