'08-02-2016  | Epilepsy Ireland app now available for iPhone' image

Epilepsy Ireland's smartphone app for people with epilepsy & parents of children with epilepsy is now available for iPhone. The Android version of the app was released last year.

The app has been developed in association with Hewlett Packard and can be downloaded from iTunes free of charge, enabling users to:

  • Track & record seizures over time
  • Record and link videos of seizures to your personal seizure log
  • Identify triggers & seizure patterns
  • Share key information with your medical team to assist with diagnosis and treatment
  • Send customisable emergency text messages

Key features

  • Record date, time, type and duration of seizures using the calendar
  • Record possible trigger factors
  • Record features of the seizure, those occurring before, during and after the seizure
  • Get quick access to the phone's camera to video-record a seizure without logging in
  • Link videos to an entry in the calendar
  • Review seizure details using the customised calendar and seizure log
  • Set up emergency SMS, send with one touch during aura stage or after seizure
  • Email your data from the app to your inbox
  • Share data with your medical team, aiding in your diagnosis and treatment
  • Create and log your own personalised seizure types, triggers and seizure features
  • Access key Epilepsy Ireland contacts and services
  •  Data is password protected and stored on handset

We are continuing to develop the app further, and new features such as a medication tracker, management of side effects and more will be coming soon.
