The first ever Saddle Up for Epilepsy cycle, which took place on St. Valentine's Day in Co Mayo has raised €15,266.30 for Epilepsy Ireland.

The brainchild of Mayo-woman Brenda Quigg to mark International Epilepsy Day, the inaugural cycle attracted over 250 leisure cyclists who cycled over three different routes in Co Mayo to raise awareness of epilepsy and funds for Epilepsy Ireland.

Last week, event organisers Brenda Quigg and Brendan Quigley presented Epilepsy Ireland's Peter Murphy with the proceeds and plans are already underway to organise an even bigger cycle in 2016.

A huge thank you to Brenda, Brendan, the entire organising committee, all the volunteers who helped on the day, all the cyclists and the array of local businesses that sponsored the cycle.

We look forward to seeing everyone in Mayo again next year!
