The launch of the upcoming Midsummer's BBQ supporting Brainwave took place on Thursday 22nd April in Maunsell's Tullamore. The launch was performed by Mary Cowen, wife of An Taoiseach Brian Cowen (photos below).

A group of local people have come together to organise what promises to be a sizzling summer event for Brainwave on Saturday 19th June.

With live music from Buck Taylor and local band Rock Junction, great BBQ and the chance to win fantastic hampers, a good night is in store. So come along and have the craic while supporting a very worthwhile cause.

Tickets are just €20 each and can be purchased from the following outlets;

  • Maunsells Church Rd
  • Ritzys Hairdressing William St
  • Fox's Shop Kilbride St

Speaking at the launch, Brainwave's Midlands Community Resource Officer Margaret Bassett said "We are delighted that Mary has taken time out to help launch this event. We in Brainwave really appreciate the efforts of people in organizing the BBQ and we are asking people to please support because they will definitely be promised a great night out as well as helping Brainwave to maintain the services to people with epilepsy. We estimate that there are over 3,000 people in the four counties of Laois, Offaly, Westmeath and Longford living with epilepsy and while epilepsy can be a particularly disabling condition for some people, it is important to know that help is no more than a phone call away."
