Today is European Epilepsy Day!

February 14th is also St. Valentine's Day of course and European Epilepsy Day takes place today because of the strong links between St Valentine and epilepsy. You can find out more about this link here.

Today marks the last day of Brainwave's national radio campaign highlighting the new Seizure Aware section on epilepsy.ie. Today also presents all of us with an interest in epilepsy with a great opportunity to make more people seizure-aware.

Here's what you can do today to raise epilepsy awareness:

  • Encourage your friends, work colleagues etc to watch our short videos here and learn more about epilepsy, seizures and first aid.
  • Follow us on Twitter and Like us on Facebook. Share our EED posts with all your friends.
  • Display our European Epilepsy Day poster at work
  • Distribute our Famous Faces of Epilepsy quiz to friends and colleagues
  • Download our election flyer and have it on hand when election canvassers come calling. Make them aware of the key issues facing people with epilepsy.

By doing one or more of these things today, you'll help raise awareness for the first ever European Epilepsy Day.
