The National Centre for Epilepsy (NCE) is a three year development scheduled to open in 2011.

The Centre will provide the following facilities for Epilepsy and related disorders:

  • Medical Inpatient and Outpatient Facilities,
  • Therapy and Counselling Services,
  • Research Facilities,
  • Training Facilities.

The National Centre for Epilepsy is promoted by individuals, both private and medical, who have had either direct or indirect experience of Epilepsy.

The Centre will not be a private hospital nor will it be a HSE facility. However it will be open to both public and private patients.

It is intended that the centre will operate on a "not for profit" basis. The development of the Centre will be funded by private and corporate investment. On completion of the investment plan the Centre will become a charitable foundation.

The Centre will be located in North Dublin within easy access to the M50, M1, Intercity and Dart services, Dublin Airport and the new Metro Line.

The Centre is an ongoing project, supported by Brainwave and our website will be updated regularly to provide information on each stage of the development.
