Tullamore Slimathon a great success
Congrats to all the crew in Tullamore who took part in the sponsored slimathon for Brainwave. The final weigh-in in November confirmed the slimathon to be a great success with an overall weight loss for the group of a staggering 10 stone 7lbs since September!
At the final weigh-in, Brainwave Community Resource Officer for the midlands Margaret Bassett thanked people for their commitment and support. Margaret also paid tribute to local butcher Mick O'Connor, whose brainchild the slimathon was. She also thanked Mary Carroll from Unislim who gave of her time and was a fantastic motivator. Overall the event was a great success and will raise much needed funds for services to people with epilepsy.
Congratulations to everyone who took part. The group ended up raising a whopping €4,000 through the Slimathon - a remarkable effort.
