Tour De Gaggs, 7-8 May
A fundraising cycle in support of Brainwave is to take place next year in honour of Alan Gallagher, a young man from Roscommon who died earlier this year.
The 'Tour De Gaggs - Alan Gallagher Memorial Cycle' will take place on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th May 2010. A large group of cyclists will travel the 285km from University College Cork where Alan had studied engineering, to his home town of Roscommon.
On the way, the group will pass through Limerick where Alan had lived for a while and Galway, where he worked as a photographer with the Galway Independent in the months before his death.
Alan was himself a keen cyclist, and previously cycled from Roscommon to Cork some years ago.
A number of fundraising initiatives are planned and the organisers are keen to hear from anyone who can offer their support to their efforts in any way.
